Shannon Parker, M.A., LMFT

As a therapist, my passion is working with children, adolescents, and their families. Empathy, trust and respect are necessary to encourage children and teenagers to reach their potential. As Brooke Hamton said, “Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindness, most beautiful and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they’ll become”. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults experiencing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, anger management, self-esteem, eating disorders, and trauma.

When working with children, I use aspects of child centered play therapy and parent child interactive therapy. Both models help children express themselves and their feelings, build confidence, heal from wounds, and help families with specific goals. When working with teenagers, I work to build a trusting relationship to feel safe to share their struggles.

As we all come from different walks of life, I believe that everyone should feel accepted for who they are and the successes and challenges that they experience through life. For all of my clients, I provide experience and a safe place to share pain, shame, sorrow, and joy when goals are met toward growth. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.
