What is the cost of one session?
The fee for session depends on many different factors. If you are using insurance, the amount
you pay depends on your specific plan. If you'd like, we can let you know before you come in
what your copay will be. If you are not using insurance, the amount you pay will depend on your
therapist. Just ask-- we'll let you know before you come in what the price will be.
Please note, that under law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance and estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total
expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes
related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and
hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate
in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you
choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or
service.
- • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith
Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Do you accept insurances?
Yes, although it depends on the therapist. We can accept Aetna, Aetna Better Health, Anthem BC/BS (and Anthem Medicaid), Cigna, Caresource, Humana,
Molina/Passport, United Healthcare/Optum, and WellCare. In addition, we are also contracted with
several EAPs in the area. You'll need to contact your benefits co-ordinator for more
information.
What should I expect for the first session?
During the first session, we'll talk about what is going on and, if you are there with
a partner or family member, we'll also get their perspective on things. We will also
let you ask us any questions you may have and let you know what it would be like working
with us and areas we would focus on.
How long are sessions? How often would we meet?
Sessions typically last from 45-60 minutes, depending on what we are talking about in
session. Occasionally sessions will be shorter (30 minutes), it just depends on your
needs.
How often we meet also depends on your needs. Typically, it's beneficial to meet
more frequently at the beginning and then as progress is made, meeting less frequent. We
understand that budgets and schedules play into the decision and are will to work with
your needs.
What is therapy like?
Therapy sessions are tailored to each individual's needs. Generally, we talk about
current events in your life, new insights you've had, progress, challenges, and
sometimes personal history that relates to your current situation. It will also be
different depending on the therapist that you work with. Each therapist has their own
approach and perspective, so it's also a good idea to talk to them about their approach
to therapy.
Is therapy confidential?
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer:
The law protects your personal health information from being released to
non-healthcare professionals without your consent. Heathcare providers, under HIPAA, are able
to release information to other healthcare providers such as your doctors, other
therapists working with you, and your insurance company. There are, however, three times by
law that we do have to release your information, even without your consent. These are:
- Any indication of child abuse, abuse of the elderly, or handicapped
- If someone indicates that they are going to harm themsevles or someone else
- If a judge issues a subpoena for therapy records
I have other questions. Who can I talk to?
